President Samia Suluhu Joins Kenyan Muslim Women For Iftar

Tanzania President Samia Suluhu has on Tuesday evening joined Kenyan Muslim Women for Iftar organized by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“President Suluhu Samia was on Tuesday evening joined by a cross-section of Kenyan Muslim women for Iftar at State House, Nairobi ahead of a State Banquet hosted in her honour by President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.” Said State House.
The event comes hours after she arrived in the country for a two-day State visit meant to boost bilateral ties between the two countries.
At JKIA to welcome the Head of State was Defense CS Rachel Omamo who ushered her into the country before embarking on her trip to State House after signing the visitors book at the airport.
Once at State House, he was welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta, inspected a guard of honour and gun salute before holding indoor talks.
Both leaders agreed to eliminate hindering barriers at the boarder to allow smooth trade between the two countries. ” Kenya and Tanzania have today agreed to eliminate barriers hindering the smooth flow of trade and people between the two East African nations.” Said State House.
Also discussed was sending a team of experts at the boarders to facilitate COVID-19 compliance in order to ease movement of goods across as fast as possible.
“Just as His Excellency the President has said, we have agreed that our Health Ministers need to sit down and come up with a structured system of testing our people at the border points to allow easy movement of our people so as to do their businesses,” Said President Samia Suluhu.
